Recession Winners - Will You Be One?
Posted by: | CommentsFrom Jeremy Liew, and the Wall Street Journal:
We enter 2009 looking down the barrel of a recession. In this environment, I predict the following trends for consumer Internet companies:
- Consumers seek cheap thrills
- Trading real money for virtual goods
- Web 2.0 leaders pull further away from the pack
- Online ad prices continue to fall, alternatives help make up some of the ground
- Getting serious about monetizing non U.S. traffic
So What?
Well, #1 is no surprise - people come to the web to be entertained or solve a problem. Is your website doing that?
#3,4, &5 are what will separate the success stories from those that merely survive the recession. Anyone can build a web page (well, almost).
Getting your website noticed and making it a catalyst for sales is the where the real talent is. See how a small investment can turn your business into a recession winner!
